Lush Cosmetics - Fighting Animal Testing

Graphic scenes of a performance artist undergoing animal laboratory tests in the window of Lush Regent Street London, to raise awareness for the “Fighting Animal Testing” campaign and EU petition.

This is one of the most powerful awareness campaigns that I have ever seen. The imagery, along with the sheer brutality of the stunt perfectly reinforce the message. Truly scary to watch, and this is just a stunt. To think this happens to helpless animals everyday is disturbing.

Join the fight to stop animal testing by signing the petition.

Animal rights protester agrees to be tortured
A YOUNG woman agreed to be tortured in full public view to try and end animal testing.
Jacqueline Traide, 24, was dragged, tied prodded, force fed and subjected to all manner of cruelty in front of hundreds of shoppers, Mail Online reports.
Jaqueline endured ten hours of injections, being smothered in different lotions, having her hair shaved and irritants being squirted into her eyes as part of a world-wide campaign by Lush and The Humane Society International.
The stunt took place in a Lush store window on London’s Regent Street, one of the UK’s busiest shopping precincts.
Passers-by were stunned by the display, with many stopping to take photos and record the gruesome spectacle with their phones.
The Humane Society says animals are routinely tested in this manner for make-up and perfumes.

This person is brave and amazing.

wow. i have so much love and respect for this woman, and can totally understand her motivations behind doing it. so much animal testing seems to occur for a large number of companies and nobody seems to care, or want to care. the drastic want to stop it and force people to suddenly be AWARE is something that i feel almost daily.
so. much. love. perfect human.

If you haven’t signed the petition, please do!

This is a picture taken in 2008 in Sri Lanka. The monk in the picture saved several cows from slaughter. After he saved their lives this was how one of the grateful cow reacted. The cow kneeled down in front of the monk. ~ with Priety Singh.

I am not weighing up whether our treatment of animals is just, because it isn’t. That age-old debate is a farce – deep down we all know it. The real question is, just how much of this injustice are we prepared to live with?
